The Need

Classrooms are under resourced for today’s learning needs. Creative teachers too-often struggle with a lack of adequate resources to be able to innovate, enhance instruction, and deeply engage students in learning. Changes in science and technology challenge the relevance of instruction and student skill development and can dampen both student and educator enthusiasm, creativity, and interest.

The Solution

Yadkin County Schools and Shallow Ford Foundation have teamed up to create a charitable fund, supported by community contributions to build a permanent source of supplemental funding to support classroom instruction, career education for at-risk students, and resources for periodic student needs that may arise from exceptional accomplishment and aligned with the YCS vision for student growth, achievement, and well-being. The purpose may be expanded as the fund grows and as additional needs emerge.

The Yadkin County Education Foundation fund provides opportunities for creative classroom grants to teachers and other academic support initiatives.
